2015 Roster Analysis
College Players
Gilvydas Biruta (Rhode Island)
This year's Eurocamp will feature only one player who competed in the NCAA last season, Lithuanian Gilvydas Biruta, who at age 23, will be the oldest player in attendance by a sizeable margin. Biruta was a fairly average college player who likely got into the Camp by pulling the right strings.
After bringing in then 26-year old Orlando Sanchez last year, the EuroCamp has been trending toward younger players this time around, which is surely a welcome sign for everyone travelling from long distances to attend.
Auto-Eligibles
One of the most appealing aspects of the Eurocamp as far as NBA teams are concerned is the fact that it acts as a one-stop shop for International prospect scouting, saving an incredible amount of time and money for executives that otherwise would have to trek around Europe for months to see each of the players individually.
With that in mind, the organizers brought in 10 players who are automatically eligible for the 2015 NBA Draft as 1993-born internationals.

Daniel Diez is likely the most interesting player in this group, a 6-8 small forward who improved his perimeter shooting dramatically and turned himself into a viable NBA prospect. Diez has always been known for his toughness and feel for the game, but adding a real 3-point shot to his arsenal (he shot 41% for 3 on a high volume) makes him a highly draftable prospect considering he did so in the very tough ACB league. He has a chance to move up with a strong showing here, even if it remains to be seen whether he will actually play, as he is coming off an injury. This would be his third EuroCamp appearance.
Mateusz Ponitka is right behind Diez, coming off a tremendous end to the season in the Belgian league, culminating in a championship that he just won today. Ponitka shot 47% for 3 in the last two months of the season, including some big outings in the playoffs. He's been scoring at a great clip all season (22 points per-40), while doing so in an extremely efficient manner (62% TS%). The fact that he's 6-6, and a fairly solid athlete, gives him a chance to get drafted when considering how well he's performed this season. Having a strong showing in Treviso would go a long way.
Awudu Abass put himself on the map with a strong showing at last year's EuroCamp, and finished the year off in impressive fashion as well, scoring 34 points in his team's final two games of the Italian league playoffs, including 4/6 for 3. More hot shooting, combined with his excellent physical profile (6-7 in shoes, 7-1 wingspan, 216 pounds) would go a long way in showing NBA teams that he can convert to the small forward position eventually and that he deserves to get drafted.
New Zealander Isaac Fotu was forced to leave Hawaii due to NCAA sanctions, but ended up landing on his feet in a major way. He was signed by mid-level ACB team Zaragoza, and loaned to bottom feeders Manresa, where he saw significant playing time and ended up having an outstanding season. Fotu was just 1/11 for 3 in his two seasons at Hawaii, but somehow managed to find an outside shot in Spain and finished 38% for 3 on nearly four attempts per game. Fotu has always been a tough, smart and extremely competitive player, and the development of his outside shot at least gives him a chance to get looks from NBA teams now considering his productivity. He's a little bit undersized for a power forward at around 6-8, but his productivity at such a high level of competition can't be ignored.
2015 NBA Early-Entry Candidates
In addition to the 1993 born players, there are a number of younger international prospects born from 1994 to 1996 who made themselves eligible to be selected in the 2015 NBA Draft by entering their name on the NBA Early-Entry candidate list.
The EuroCamp added 11 of the most interesting prospects from that list to give them a chance to increase their standing and gather feedback on their stock before they must decide whether to remain in the 2015 Draft. Some of the prospects below will elect to withdraw but NBA scouts will continue to follow them for 2016 and beyond.

George de Paula seems to be taking the opposite route of his teammate in Brazil last season, Bruno Caboclo, by attending every single NBA-oriented event he's invited to. He was at the Nike Hoop Summit, the NBA Combine, and now the Adidas EuroCamp, which is a rare trifecta that's probably never been pulled off. He also participated in a workout in Los Angeles organized by his agency (Octagon) that was widely attended by NBA teams. De Paula just turned 19 last week, and his freakish measurements, combined with his impressive passing ability, will surely get him some looks in the late first round or the early second.
Nikola Radicevic is coming off a good season in the ACB where he was able to take advantage of significant playing time to improve his NBA outlook. A tall point guard with an inconsistent jumper, Radicevic's creativity with the ball is interesting to teams. They will certainly want to learn more about him.
7-footers with chiseled frames don't grow on trees, and Sergiy Zagreba was extremely productive in the Ukranian league to boot. His team surprisingly made the finals of the weakened Ukranian league, with Zagreba averaging an impressive 20 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks per-40 minutes while shooting 67% for 2. NBA teams will want to see how real those numbers are against his peers.
Kevin Harley started the year slow in Pro B France, but finished very strong, scoring 77 points in his last five games combined. The 21-year old has good physical attributes, so he might become an option for a NBA team in the second round with a strong showing in Treviso.
Wael Arakji might have the longest trip of any of the players in attendance, as he's coming in from Lebanon. The big point guard is a strong athlete with nice defensive ability, but his lack of scoring and especially perimeter shooting ability is worrisome. Scouts will likely be happy to see him in this setting instead of having to evaluate him in the Lebanese league.
Bosnian wing Adin Vrabac got plenty of minutes in the German league with Trier this season, even though his lack of scoring efficiency and turnover problems hampered his stock from getting off the ground. He's got great physical attributes at 6-8 with tremendous athletic ability, so NBA teams will surely be keeping an eye on him.
George De Paula's teammate, Lucas Dias, will also be here. The former MVP of the Jordan Brand Classic international game two years ago, Dias is a stretch-4 with nice scoring ability. Teams will want to take a closer look at his perimeter shooting prowess and defense.

Players like Mario Hezonja, Aleksandar Vezenkov, Timothe Luwawu, Mam Jateh, Nikola Milutinov, Cedi Osman, Arturas Gudaitis, Luka Mitrovic and Shawn Dawson are still in the playoffs, and won't be able to attend.

2016 NBA Draft and Beyond
Many of the best prospects participating in the EuroCamp are not draft-eligible, as they are either too young or didn't feel ready to put their names in just yet. That doesn't mean that NBA scouts won't be watching them, though.
Perhaps the EuroCamp's greatest value lies in getting an early read on promising young players who are just on the verge of becoming important players at the professional level, something that holds true for both the NBA and European talent evaluators in attendance.

This year's Eurocamp has a few very young prospects scouts will be keeping a close eye on. Dragan Bender is considered one of the top 1997 prospects in Europe and wouldn't be able to declare himself eligible for the NBA Draft until 2016. It will be interesting to see how he fares here as the second youngest player in attendance. 16-year old Turkish power forward Omer Yurtseven isn't quite as highly regarded as Bender, but isn't too far off either. He drew very high praise for his performance in the Euroleague junior tournament (ANGT), as did Lithuanian big man Laurynas Birutis and Bosnian wing Edin Atic, all of whom will be here.
Other prospects that scouts will be watching include highly athletic Montenegrin forward Aleksa Ilic, Latvian combo forward Roland Smits and Serbian wing Dejan Todorovic. Few recognized the name of 6-9 Senegalese big man Issa Dieng of US Rail (Thies), a local club in that country, so that makes him an interesting name to look for in and of itself.

The 2014 EuroCamp featured three participants subsequently selected in the 2014 NBA Draft, Vasilije Micic (#52), Nemanja Dangubic (#54) and Louis Labeyrie (#57). Past participants who were drafted last year include Dario Saric, Jusuf Nurkic, Clint Capela, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Alessandro Gentile.
Representatives of all 30 NBA teams will be present, watching the drills and games in competitive five on five action, conducting interviews with prospects, collecting measurements and athletic testing data, and taking in private workouts set up by agents.
2015 EuroCamp Overview
The EuroCamp (official website) went through a transition period in recent years following the acquisition of Reebok by adidas and a rebranding of the camp. Maurizio Gherardini, the founder of EuroCamp and Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul general manager, returns once again as the camp director, after replacing Arturas Karnisovas last year. Former NBA assistant coach Bill Bayno returns as coaching director for the third year. They will be assisted by organizers Jim Gatto, Jelena Soce and Michele Gherardini, who have made some key changes to the event in recent years that enhanced the experience for NBA scouts and have a chance to pay even bigger dividends this year.
After taking a job with USA Basketball, Karnisovas made way for the return of the venerable former Benetton Treviso GM Maurizio Gherardini, as Camp Director. Gherardini, also General Manager of Euroleague powerhouse Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul, played a huge part in the development of this camp throughout the years, so it's only fitting to see him continue to lead the way in an official capacity.
For the third straight year, adidas has assembled a Team USA roster, which will play one game every day, and has become one of the highlights of the camp. Last year's group was led by Jaylen Brown and Brandon Ingram, who finished their senior year of high school this spring ranked as one of the top-5 players in the class of 2015 according to every major scouting service, as well as players like Thon Maker, Kobi Simmons and Dennis Smith who are top recruits in 2016. The value of seeing young American prospects, such as Brown and Ingram, up close in addition to group of international players assembled is obviously significant for the NBA scouts in attendance.
This year's group is expected to be the best ever, include multiple future McDonald's All-Americans, such as Dennis Smith, Edrice Adebayo and Frank Jackson.

This is terrific group of prospects on paper, enlisting many of the top performers from this spring's adidas Gauntlet and a number of potential one-and-done prospects who could factor into the NBA Draft as early as 2017.
Next Generation Practices
Adidas has also assembled a Next Generation for this year's EuroCamp. Continuing the tradition started in 2013, this group will be composed of many of the top prospects in Europe under the age of 16. Showcasing their skills in a single two and a half hour practice, the players invited will offer NBA and European scouts a glimpse of what the future holds.

While official rosters for the French U20 National Team won't be available until the event begins, this is our best guess as to which top French prospects may be included on the team's roster. Injuries, and the French league playoffs unfortunately robbed us of three of the top prospects who were called to the national team, Le Mans' Petr Cornelie and Antibes' Timothe Luwawu, whose teams are still playing, and Isaia Cordinier, who will rest this summer after suffering from tendonitis is his knee.
Still, NBA teams will be very interested in seeing Alpha Kaba, a 1996-born PF/C who has improved his stock quite a bit the past few weeks in NBA private workouts with his length and perimeter shooting ability.
Guerschon Yabusele will get some looks after a strong season in Pro B playing for Roanne. He has a chiseled frame and is fairly skilled for a player his size. Antoine Wallez, a 6-8 power forward with a nice perimeter game, was one of the best players in the French junior league this season. Cyrille Eliezer-Vanerot is an athletic swingman with some 3 and D potential. The heady Axel Bouteille is one of the few players roster who played rotation minutes in Pro A this season, with Chalon. Maxime Roos is a 6-8 small forward who scored in bunches at the junior level this season, even from beyond the arc.

This is actually a very interesting roster, featuring one of the strongest contenders for the U19 World Championship beyond the USA team and U18 defending European Champions Turkey.
Vassilis Charalampopoulos was one of the youngest players to see serious playing time in high-level Europe with Panathinaikos in the Euroleague, and is unquestionably one of the top prospects in the 1997-age group. He's an extremely mature player with a nice shooting stroke and a terrific feel for the game.
Georgios Papagiannis stands 7-1 and is an impressive rebounder and shot-blocker. He has long arms and nice mobility, and is a sure-fire NBA prospect who is rumored to have some interest in potentially attending college next season.
Georgios Tsalmpouris rode the bench for Iowa State all of his freshman season, but is 7-1 with a nice perimeter stroke, which is pretty much enough to get him some looks from the highest levels of basketball.
16-year old Vasileos Christidis is two years younger than most of the Greek players on the roster, and was one of the most productive players at the U16 European championship last summer.
Antonios Koniaris is a long armed combo guard with great toughness and a terrific feel for the game. He saw spot minutes this season in a few games in the Greek league with Panathianaikos, but mostly played at the junior level.
Michalis Lountzis saw some minutes in the Euroleague this season despite being only 16-years old, and is also two years younger than most of the players on this roster.
Konstantinos Mitoglou had a great freshman season for Wake Forest in the ACC, making 39% of his four 3-pointers attempted per game, despite standing 6-10.
